Fawcett Lake Resort is a seasonal campground with about 200 families who call it their summer home.  It has been a favorite spot to camp and fish for more than 75 years.  It is located in the beauty of true natural Alberta bush and the sunset itself is worth the drive.  While at the Resort, there is plenty of opportunity for being at the beach, playing in the water and getting muddy with the quads or mountain bikes.  That’s right, located on the Trans Canada Trail, Fawcett Lake is in Quad Country and 4-wheel ATVs are welcome on the Resort property.  Anyone who has been there will tell you that when you are at Fawcett Lake … you go fishing.  So in addition to your camping gear, you will need your beach stuff, boats, quads, mountain bikes, fishing gear, and don’t forget your fishing license.

Fawcett Lake is best known for Walleye fishing.  It is also known for its Northern Pike and Yellow Perch.  The lake is about 10 miles long and 2 miles wide.  It has 4 islands and is connected to 3 rivers and several streams.  Motorboats are allowed on the lake at all times. Summer fishing is closed in the eastern half of the lake until July 1 each year to protect the spawning season.  The entire lake is then open to fishing for the rest of the year.

We have families of all ages in our community including some who are now in their fourth generation at the lake.  The store in the community building and the natural sand swimming beach are both busy gathering areas and the playground is a favorite hang out for younger children.  The Campers Club encourages a family atmosphere and is very active in holding events each summer.  This allows many opportunities for people to get together with their lake neighbors.

All lots are leased annually with lease terms ending as late as 2033.  There is no daily camping available. Lots vary greatly:

– size (2,500 sq ft to over 15,000 sq ft)
– distance from lake (beachfront to 1,000 ft from lake)
– treed or open
– covered with gravel, grass or other vegetation
– secluded or neighborhood lots
– cabin lots or RV lots
