Canada Fireworks (and Beach Clean-up)
The stars, planets & flaming exploding balls of fun have finally aligned and we are able to celebrate Canada Day long weekend with a bang! East Fawcett Lake Campers Club Fireworks display will be taking place at the main beach @11pm Friday July 2nd (in case of inclement weather Saturday will be the backup). We currently have enough money in the fund for an approximately 15 minute show. As you may have heard, the traditional Red & White Parade will be held at the lake again this year as part of our Canada Celebrations. Decorate your quads, bikes, side-by-sides ... and lawn mowers, to celebrate Canada's birthday in style. Hopefully, we will be able to meet at the top of Pike Peak (the North end of the Resort) to get organized and start the parade off at 2.00pm. Annual Campers Meeting
The Annual Meeting of all Annual Campers is for everyone who calls the Resort their summer home. This is the opportunity to present or discuss the issues and to help plan the events of this season. It is expected to be an open meeting again this year for everyone to attend in person. The meeting will be held on the Sunday of the May long weekend (which is May 22) at 1.00pm outside the Store Community Building. Bring a lawn chair and dress for the weather.

It is time to start thinking about decorating for the annual Red and White Parade to celebrate Canada's birthday. This year we will have independent judges and the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd best entry will win a prize. The parade will start at the north end of the Resort at 1.00pm on Saturday and be led by our new Campers Club President. It will then wander throughout the Resort ending at the Main Swimming Beach where the judging will take place. Is anyone interested in a fun run or walk around the resort? The route of Narrows Way north through the Resort, then Fern Trail, the Emergency Road and then Resort Road is approximately 2.5 km for the walkers. The runners/joggers will need to complete one more loop for 5.0km. The route would finish back at the Store Community Building, with potential speeding ticket for those who have clocked an overall speed in excess of 10 km/h. Free bottled water will be provided.
